Hardly Able

Wheelchair Ramp Ministry

About Hardly Able

In 1997, God planted a vision in a LHUMC member’s heart and mind to build ramps for elderly and disabled residents. The Hardly Able ministry Tom Gildersleeve started more than two decades ago is still going strong.

More than 2,900 ramps and nearly 5,000 total projects have been completed as of August 2019!

New servants are always needed. If you have never built a wheelchair ramp before, no worries ... we'll teach you what to do!

Email Larry Wells at larry.a.wells@att.net or simply show up in the Transmitter campus parking lot, 4501 Transmitter Road, at 7:50 am any Saturday morning.

Older children (with a parent or guardian) and students can help, too!
